Steps for Admission into our Umbrella Program
STEP 1: Get to Know Our School
Read and agree with the following documents:
- the school’s Statement of Faith.
- review the Umbrella Overview.
Home Education Program Description K5-8th
Cost breakdown for River’s Edge Christian Home Education Program Service Fees:
Registration Fee – $75
*Testing – $50 fee ($75 after Nov. 20th for the current school year.) Testing is required for grades 2-9, but does not have to be taken at River’s Edge. Testing is for the parent to see how the child progresses, not for River’s Edge.
**Adding the Activities and/or Weekly Assignments are optional and will be a separate purchase that can be completed at any time of the year. Everyone initially signs up for the basic program option, and then you can add these other options when you are ready!
Home Education Program Description 9-12th
Cost breakdown for River’s Edge Christian Home Education Program Service Fees:
Registration Fee – $250
*Includes high school course planning based on college or career path the student is choosing. Additional academic support is available for $25 per 30 minutes, as needed. One meeting is required (in person, or virtual) after enrollment to verify high school courses for a successful outcome.
**Testing – $50 fee ($75 after November 20th) for the current school year. Testing is required for 9th grade but does not have to be taken at River’s Edge.
***Ceremony and Reception will be offered if there is a sufficient number of students to make it affordable. Cap and gown will be ordered separately by the family.
As an Umbrella Parent, you are required to:
- Plan and submit a Course of Study Form to the RECA office
- Teach, test, and grade your child’s school work
- Report grades and attendance to the Umbrella Coordinator at the end of each school year
Refund Policy: Registration Fees are non-refundable upon the time of submission unless RECA denies acceptance to the family. If a family chooses to switch their student from the academy to umbrella, or vice versa, then an additional registration fee will be incurred by the parent. No previously paid amounts may be transferred or credited towards these fees.
Step 2: Application
Start a new application. Please make sure to select the appropriate grade under “Umbrella Program”.
A non-refundable Registration Fee is due when you submit your application.
Step 3: You will complete your checklist, providing any documents or information we need to complete the enrollment process.
